ABOUT A HARVEST IN BURGUNDY The work was created though the ethnographic processes of participant observation conducted by Roderick Coover in Burgundy at the vineyards of A. & P. de Villaine in 1996. The participant observation period was followed by subsequent research, photography and filmming there and at other sites in the region, 1997-1998. This work is discussed in multiple contexts including by Anna Grimshaw in her review of Cultures In Webs and The Language of Wine American Anthropologist (December 2008) and elsewhere. An essay about this work is published in the book Working Images, edited by Sarah Pink et al (Routledge, 2001).There is also a related film, The Language of wine: An Anthropology of Work, Wine and the Senses, directed by Roderick Coover (2003/2007) and available via Amazon.
